...... And I was the winner.I had a really great time participating in the competition I met new people and made new contacts. The competition itself was a bit unorganised this was from the the time the competition was supposed to start to the time that each model had their practicing slot. We had to provide everything for our-self  the only thing they would provide for us was the stage and we had to show what we had on that stage. we had to come up with our own choreography, provide our own outfit, find our own hairstylist, makeup artist and our own audience.

I personally didn't have anything planned at all I'm the kind of girl that say's '' I'll just wing it'' and hope for the best which is a terrible habit that I have, the other girls had amazing outfits and great choreography bringing extra people onstage back up dancers, changing on stage you name it!!! I had two playsuits to choose from one was glamorous with sequins and gem and the other a traditional black and white samakaka, I came up with my choreography in the toilet in a matter of minutes and had my friend who was also taking part in the competition watch me do a simplified version of my walk.

In the end I ended choosing the traditional jumpsuit I wanted to go with the African theme because I noticed that no one was doing that majority of the girls theme were modern with R&B backing track or Hip Hop and I picked the most obvious song 2face - African Queen. To me the competition was to do with modelling it was a modelling competition so that's what i did, I didn't want to dance or do anything because I know what kind of model I am an I know that I have a strong walk and I would let my walk speak for itself.

I had negative thoughts on the day, I had already put in my mind that I was not going to win, all that mattered was that I took part or if I did win I would be happy to. I didn't have a makeup artist or hair stylist so I had to ask around for make artist that was there for the other girls if they could do me and I was very lucky to get such a skilled and talented make up artist Shiku she did an amazing job I didn't even know what I wanted on my face but she was still able to make me look beautiful and my hair I ended up doing it myself I'm not the most creative when it comes to hairstyles but I was able to come up with something.

The competition was not easy there were many girls that took part and one of the ways to pick a winner was to allow the crowd to vote for you by cheering and I didn't have many people there supporting me just a few close friends.Out of the group that I was in I was the winner and I went onto the next round which was against the winner from the other groups. The way that that winner was decided was by getting the crowd involved by cheering but the final decision was by the judges.

In the end I was picked as the winner by the crowd and the judges as they felt that I portrayed myself very well as an African with the braids and the African print play suit. People that I didn't expect to vote for me did it was an amazing feeling knowing that I had won it was a great experience and I wouldn't mind entering another modelling competition.
