먹자 (let's eat) !!!
A really great Korean restaurant a little hidden as it is off the high street but right next to Finchley Central station. Each table comes equipped with its own barbecue grill, so you can cook your own food. Me and my friend went there about 6.30 so it wasn't very busy in the restaurant.
The BBQ is grilled over charcoal which you don't get to see often in London. We decided to go to Yijo solely for the BBQ. This was my second time having KBBQ the first time being 2 years ago and I had a sudden urge for it.
The food came pretty quickly this was down to the restaurant not being as busy since they just started their dinner service and with any of the KBBQ you order you will get lettuce and a range of side dishes and sauce to go with it. This was great as you don't have to order it separately and pay more.
The portions are very generous, freshly cooked and delicious the Tteokbokki tasted delicious just the right amount of spiciness for us. This was my first time trying it, it's soft, sweet yet spicy rice cakes and i thought it was pretty good but then again I haven't got anything else to compare it to.
Jajangmyeon (Korean black bean noodles) this version here had a slight sweetness in the black bean sauce and the noodles was smooth and chewy, yet it didn’t feel heavy on the stomach
We ordered bulgogi and pork belly and it was delicious it was such a fun experience grilling your own meat .
We wasn't sure if the food would be enough for the two of us we thought about ordering rice but it was more than enough we were satisfied at the end.
We really wanted to go all out and have the full KBBQ experience so we ordered a bottle of soju word of advice it's best to drink as you eat, soju has a bitter taste and it's great to get rid of that with some of the delicious food.
Pajeon (Korean pancake) was nicely made good in taste and texture. overall it was a good experience and it wasn't to expensive for the two of us the bill was £59.60
You get good decent portion size which make it great for sharing. Price is decent for the size you get. The staff are friendly, although they have vent, you will come out smelling smokey!
